MIB2 voice amplifier not working after FEC activation

The Problem

The MIB2 PQ Discover Media unit showed FEC code 70400 (Electronic amplifier for driver) as installed, but the voice amplifier did not work after activation through the normal feature-enabling process. The owner had already enabled the FEC code and confirmed it appeared in the installed features list.

Solution

1. Go to the Mr-Fix YouTube channel and find his video specifically about datasets — this identifies which app to use for the next steps.
2. Open that app on your device and navigate to the settings or info section before doing anything else.
   • The dataset feature is hidden by default and will not appear in the main menu until experimental mode is on.
3. Enable 'experimental features' from within the app's settings or info screen.
4. Return to the main menu — the dataset option will now be visible.
5. Use the dataset feature following the method shown in the Mr-Fix video to make the voice amplifier function correctly.
