Camperglass Safari window handle keeps falling off

The Problem
The handle on a Camperglass Safari side window detaches from the glass pad because standard adhesives cannot bond reliably to polypropylene plastic, a failure made worse by heat build-up inside the van. The owner had already tried reattaching the handle with the adhesive sent by Camperglass, which failed again within a month.
Solution
- Do not reuse the Camperglass-supplied adhesive — it does not bond to polypropylene plastic and will fail again.
- Source a polypropylene-rated structural adhesive; standard superglue and epoxy will not hold to PP.
- Loctite produces a dedicated polypropylene adhesive available from hardware stores.
- For a more permanent repair, mechanically fasten a small stainless steel shim to the PP handle body using screws or rivets rather than relying on glue alone.
- This gives the adhesive a steel-to-glass bond instead of a PP-to-glass bond, which is far more reliable.
- Apply the polypropylene adhesive to bond the shim face firmly to the glass pad.
- Clamp or tape the joint and allow the full manufacturer-stated cure time before operating the window.
Safety Notes
- Do not drill or apply force near the edge of the glass panel — tempered glass can shatter unpredictably.
- Allow full adhesive cure time before operating the window; loading the joint early will cause immediate re-failure.
