Vland T6 LED Headlight Low Beam Not Working: DIY Fix and Warranty Guide

3 June 2026Electrics

The Problem

One or both low beams stop working on Vland LED projector headlights shortly after installation. The most common cause is a failed LED driver module inside the affected unit rather than a fault in the van's wiring or loom. You cannot easily buy a replacement driver module on its own because Vland distributors typically refuse to supply spare parts without the original eBay order number from the first purchaser, which leaves second-hand buyers without an obvious route to a fix.

Solution

  1. Identify exactly what you have before doing anything else. Vland produces several T6 headlight variants (for example, sequential-indicator versus static, and DRL styles differ between T6 and T6.1 front ends). Note the part number or model code printed on the headlight housing label and on the driver/ballast module itself, and photograph both. (Verify the part number and model identifier on your own units before ordering — Vland part references are not standardised across sellers.) Confirm whether your kit is the T6 or T6.1 version, as the two are not interchangeable. (Confirm this applies to your T6 generation.)

  2. Remove both headlight units so you can work on them side by side. On the T6 the headlights are not removable from outside without first taking off the front trim:

    • Disconnect the battery (see Safety Notes).
    • Remove the radiator grille — it is held by clips along the top edge and tabs at the bottom; release the clips and lift it away. (Verify the exact grille fixings for your model year before levering.)
    • With the grille off, access the headlight retaining bolts (typically along the top edge and at the inner/outer corners of the unit). Remove these bolts to free the headlight. Some trims also have a bolt accessed from behind the bumper end. (Confirm the number and location of headlight bolts for your T6/T6.1 with a workshop manual or dealer — do not force the unit if it does not lift out freely.)
    • Ease the headlight forward, then release the wiring connectors. These are clip-locked multi-pin plugs; press the locking tab and pull by the connector body, never by the wires.
  3. Swap the driver module from the working headlight into the faulty unit to confirm the fault. If the transplanted module restores the low beam in the faulty unit, the original module is confirmed dead and needs replacing. Return each module to its own unit before refitting once you have your diagnosis.

  4. Get a replacement module or headlight. If you still have the original eBay order number and the seller is active, contact them and request a replacement module or complete unit. The Vland eBay storefront (previously trading as 'Vland-Autozone') has been reported to hold UK stock and to honour replacements — but marketplace storefronts and seller names change, so search eBay for the current official Vland T6 headlight listing rather than relying on a fixed seller name, and confirm the seller is UK-based before buying.

    • Fallback if you cannot meet those conditions (no original order number, or the seller is no longer trading): contact Vland directly through their manufacturer website with the part/model numbers and photographs from step 1 and ask for an authorised UK distributor or replacement module. If no warranty route is available, a generic LED headlight driver/ballast matching your module's connector and output may be sourced from an automotive lighting specialist — take your old module to them to match it. (Verify compatibility with the supplier before fitting; an incorrectly rated driver can damage the LED array.)
  5. Refit in reverse order, reconnecting the locking plugs until they click and reinstalling the headlight bolts and grille.

  6. Book a pre-MOT beam-setter (headlamp aim) check at a garage after refitting. Do not rely on the MOT itself to catch misalignment — drive-quality headlight aim is easy to disturb when units are removed and refitted, and a beam-setter check beforehand lets you correct it rather than risk an MOT failure or dazzling other drivers.
